The idea of open education has spread to hundreds of educational institutions, foremost higher education and adult learning institutions, across the globe. “Giving away knowledge for free” seemed like a revolutionary idea, it fascinates educators, interests learners, scares publishing houses and challenges educational organisations who view selling produced knowledge as their core-business. Think Thank Thunk » TEDxEPS Talk Prep
I have a natural aversion to futurism, so my talk is going to center on pragmatism. I want teachers, parents, administrators, and students that listen to my talk to know what a young teacher views as his ideal future school.

Technology Is Not the Answer – James Fallows – Technology – The Atlantic
In project after project, the lesson was the same: information technology amplified the intent and capacity of human and institutional stakeholders, but it didn’t substitute for their deficiencies. If we collaborated with a self-confident community or a competent non-profit, things went well. But, if we worked with a corrupt organization or an indifferent group, no amount of well-designed technology was helpful. Exquisite Corpse 2.0: 4 Apps for Collaborative Story Writing | Hack Education
As a child, I was a huge fan of a collaborative story writing game that I later learned was also a favorite of the Surrealists. The gist of the “exquisite corpse” game: write a sentence on a piece of paper. Fold the paper so that only the last word or phrase can be seen, and pass the paper around in a circle. Everyone gets a chance to add a line or two to what becomes a story composed by the collective, rather than by a single author – a story created together, but separately, in secret.
