(28) EU Tech Policy and the Trump Win: Two Lessons | LinkedIn
Trump’s win holds two lessons for EU tech policy – one rather evident, the other less so. On the easy-to-spot end, EU dependence on US tech has just become a security vulnerability. Building, step by step, a European-controlled tech stack is no longer optional but essential.
Less obvious: the Trump win illustrates the collateral damage unguided digitization can do to societies. It is a wake-up call for EU politicians to steer digital tech forcefully, so that it strengthens democracy, citizen and economic security, societal cohesion, and human flourishing – the opposite of what we have witnessed in America. Just chasing US tech prowess in a competitiveness race – as the Draghi Report demands – will do more damage than good.

X-Portrait 2: Highly Expressive Portrait Animation
Portrait animation technology provides a ultra-low cost and highly effective way to creating expressive, realistic character animations and video footages: users only need to provide a static portrait image and a driving performance video, and the model can then use these inputs to generate videos by transferring the driving expression to the subject in the portrait. This can drastically reduce the complexity of existing motion capture, character animation and content creation pipeline.
