Separate AI Literacy and Assessment Integrity
Assessment integrity has deteriorated because of AI. Students can more easily cut corners on assignments, which destroys an educator’s ability to evaluate student thinking in any digital space. This is a real problem with real institutional stakes. AI Literacy is a different project. It focuses not on preserving assessment integrity but on teaching students to be critical thinkers in the chat — to reflect, push back, and use AI in a way that builds their own cognition rather than replacing it.

Rethinking Shared Governance (opinion)
Budgetary decisions are frequently the product of negotiated compromise among internal constituencies, making it difficult to align spending with institutional priorities. When no single party bears responsibility for the bottom line, every constituency has an incentive to advocate for its own priorities and little incentive to absorb cuts for the good of the whole. The result is not malice but drift—the accumulated weight of decisions for which no one was fully accountable.

If an LLM wrote the code for you, and you then reviewed it, tested it thoroughly and made sure you could explain how it works to someone else that’s not vibe coding, it’s software development. The usage of an LLM to support that activity is immaterial.

In some cases, Zvi says, he found that the exposed apps would have allowed him to gain administrative privileges over systems and even remove other administrators.
