This slide tackle is the before. After is the compound fracture below. The ER gave us the x-rays on paper and a Windows-only application on a CD.1 After having to buy an Apple USB-C to USB adapter for my Superdrive to deal with typical Apple nonsense.2 Once I could read the CD, I couldn’t find […]

High School Graduation Photos
I didn’t have any children graduating this year and one of the normal photographers had a last minute knee surgery so the high shcool asked if I could fill in. Given my past experience with shooting in their gym, I decided renting the 85mm f1.2 was a necessity. Also, after having shot with the older […]
Weird Images
I haven’t been doing real photography lately but I’m still capturing images that amuse me. One of these remains at our local Food Lion. I’ve read about people picking them up and doing something with them. I don’t think I could justify it though. What is a poodle shooter? From A Connecticut Yankee in King […]
Photo Mix
I’ve been told you have to focus. Pick a theme. Focus. Sticking with themes is not my strong suit. What browser tabs do you have open? would lead to a rather long and relatively strange answer. I like to go in lots of random directions. They meet up eventually or they don’t. The pictures I […]
Field Hockey Photos
Photographing a sport you’re not familiar with is a challenge. I’ve seen a few field hockey games but most of that was in college and I’ve never played it. I managed to get to two games this year which is many but I’m only one man and no one is paying me.1 Field hockey moves […]
Download Flickr Gallery Photos
I took photos for my youngest’s soccer team this year. I publish them to Flickr because I like Flickr still and have been using it for 17 years (!?!). One of the parents put together a gallery for the seniors using Flickr. They then wanted to show it as a slideshow at the upcoming senior […]
Thinking About Soccer Photos
My youngest made the varsity soccer team so I’ve been trying to make it to most of those games and take pictures. While I’ve shot a decent amount of soccer over the years, it’s mainly been fairly young teams who weren’t quite as adept at passing. I had gotten pretty comfortable with football. This feels […]

Riverrock and some sports
There was a cricket game going on next to the soccer game. I don’t really know the rules, but it’s visually pretty dramatic. I liked the combination of white uniforms and the white fence. Riverrock was going on this weekend and my oldest (John) was photographing the bouldering competitions so I hung out for a […]
